1985 ad (Schneider?)

Saw it on Facebook and thought it delightful.

Nice. I still have the CPC464, Monitor, Diskstation and table. Which hosts my PC (private and office) since 1985. DMP2000 instead (out of service due to no “Farbband”). The bird - well - tasty and long gone

Very charming. Is there any information about where did they see the ad? I’ve been reading a lot of Schneider CPC International / Schneider Magazine issues and I don´t remember seing this ad.

Quite surrealist!
‘Ceci n’est pas un Amstrad’
nein?

Yeah unfortunately these never carry any further info…

I can’t remember that I ever saw this. Also totally different from any Schneider ad I’ve ever seen. However the table in the picture is an official Schneider CPC “peripheral”. It might be from an ad but with changed background. Or maybe an illustration in a magazine.

Looks like AI generated

do you have the link to the post on FB?

If you do a reverse image search you’ll find it at several places actually

Interesting how they hid (as in skipped showing) the power cable between the monitor and the CPC.

Shhh we don’t talk about cables.

https://www.tineye.com/search/32f4a0cc9cd87927213a0c33ecde2be61a0af97f?sort=score&order=desc&page=1 doesn’t know this image. Google does, but reported matches are 2 month old. Also like @Strike4711 I feel it has some AI “vibes”. Thanks for sharing in any case.

That said, it may be real still.

  • Visual noise that feels like scanned paper.
  • Locally correct perspective+lighting, yet mismatched between the background room and the foreground stand and CPC, are typical of how it was done in the era.
  • And of course the screen content totally not respecting perspective or the screen border.

Surprising still, no text at all and an unusual aspect ratio. Perhaps a text part was cut.

Yes, some text was probably cut - though it could stand as a great ad as is…
