I think this one got me confused back in the day (excluding Alien 8! 😂).

If I’m allowed some _cross-platform_, on the speccy we have Aliens by Electric Dreams (also known as “the good one”, because how atmospheric it was), and Alien by Mind Games (this one; which is alright).

Not sure what is the history of this one. CPC-Power says it was edited by Amsoft and developed Argus Press Software. May be they did a port, because the speccy version is from 84 and this is apparently from 85.

MobyGames credits Concept Software Ltd for the CPC, speccy and C64 versions in 84; I don’t know about that.

Well, it does kinda look like a port, so…

It was one of the games they offered us when we first bought a CPC. But I chose Quack a Jack instead as I thought it looked complicated. It has a really large manual for an Amsoft game.

It must be rare now because I bought a near-complete set of Amsoft games at auction, and while the rest of the games are all original, Alien was included as a reproduction.

The manual throws shade on action games right on the cover. “Go beyond the games of zapping and fast reflexes… adventure and strategy games start where arcade games finish. Here is the world of imagination and thought.”

If they were trying to put me off buying it then congratulations I guess. I thought about it for a long time though because the cover was really spooky (it’s the movie poster).

It looks familiar, I think I played it when I was young 🙃
