Istanbul, Turkey — Fans of classic computing and the retro scene have a date to mark on their calendars. The retroISTANBUL 2026 event, organized by the international CPC User Club community, will bring together Amstrad CPC creators, developers, and enthusiasts for two days on November 19 and 20, 2026. The gathering will serve as a hub for the demoscene and classic computing communities, celebrating the culture of creation and software development for the iconic 8-bit computer. Wild Compo: A category open to music, graphics, tools, emulators, or experimental projects related to the CPC ecosystem. Not a potential road trip here (even though it actually potentially is), but I would also love to go. Haven’t been to Instanbul ever and this sounds like a great opportunity, to “zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe erschlagen” 😃 (now translate me this, translato-bot) ---

I don’t know how much would now cost, but a few weeks ago there were flights from Düsseldorf for not much more than 120€. Definitively cheaper than driving a car XD ---

Yeah, the flight is probably (still) the cheapest part of such a trip. But adding accommodation and food and drinks and entrance fee is yet another story. How about you @Gryzor and that friend? Plus: the 19th and 20th of Nov are _workdays_, eek!
