It’s easy to generate your own fonts on the CPC, but which ones are out there? I’m looking for fonts created with SYMBOL that can be used in BASIC programs!
Are there any sources for this?

Oh wow. So little code, so distinct results.
Here is a huge graphical listing of fonts: CPC Rulez • Consulter le sujet - CPC Fonts Collection
If you know how to extract them of course ![]()
Credits: Francesc Alcaucer. CPC464 only, although it can be adapted to 6128. You’ll have to read his PDF.
10 MODE 0:CALL &BC02:BORDER 0:PEN 2:PAPER 5:M=&B1CF:A=1:B=170:C=243:D=228
20 POKE &B1C8,1:POKE M,A:POKE M+1,B:POKE M+2,C:POKE M+3,D:FOR A=0 TO 7:WINDOW#A,1,40,1,25:NEXT:CLS
It was already (poorly) documented in a 2-liner of Hebdogiciel in December 1985 (464 only).

Ah, these are all really COOL programs here!
My only problem: I’m hoping for “simple” solutions with an icon, since my program isn’t “allowed” to have Peeks and Pokes …
After all, it’s supposed to be better than on the C64 ![]()
Well these programs of course are just taking a short cut using the peeks and pokes, you could use the SYMBOL command but it would be extremely laborious over a full character set ![]()
I know … ![]()
I already have a character set, but only one.
The thing is, I want to write a small graphics demo purely in BASIC. No PEEKs, POKEs, and if possible, no CALLs.
Not that labourious task if you use FontGen by DevilMarkus: FontGen 1.0 for CPC . It creates a Symbol listing from a screen capture with your font.
Nice!!
AmstradMuseum is your friend: https://amstradmuseum.emu-france.info/Fichiers/Liens&Outils/Fonts/Fonts.htm ![]()
Whoa that’s a lot of fonts!
WHEEE, that looks like EXACTLY what I was looking for!
Now I “just” need to load everything and extract the matching BASIC lines ![]()
