Rombo VIDI-CPC

I got a Rombo VIDI-CPC while the forums were on holiday, and I wanted to show off a couple of captures I got with it now the forum’s back up.

Captured on real hardware, then loaded into emulator and PNGshotted for maximum cleanliness.

I quite liked this capture from 36 Chambers of Shaolin - used a Pi with kodi on to get the movie captures - turns out it’s real hard to get a cheap camera(of any sort) that supports composite out.

And of course, Demolition Man.

Anyone have any fun memories of using the VIDI-CPC?

I’d love to hear your stories!

The ùCPM illustrations are created using the Vidi software

Issue 9 will be released on 29 October 2026 at 12.00 pm to mark the BENEDICTION CODING PARTY #6

lol @Titi, you’re getting a bit ahead of yourself! It’s issue #8 of your ùCPM fanzine that’s coming out for BENEDICTION CODING PARTY #6, not issue #9, right?

Are you already working on the next one?

That’s pretty sweet! I don’t think i’m quite ready for DTP on the CPC just yet but I’m definitely interested in giving it a go, eventually.

Just got hold of one of these boards and keen to test it when it arrives

It is well worth reading the manual for it, if you get it with your vidi-cpc : the software is pretty good but doesn’t fully explain everything.

If not, CPC-Power has the good stuff as usual:

Hey, I was actually going through the manual myself - gotta love dot matrix manuals!

When I got mine, the guy had a second one, complete in its original box with the manual that needed testing. I was more than happy to oblige.
