Hawwo, CPCWiki forums!

Hawwo! i’m Cardboard (pronouns: he/him, but i prefer they/them). some 22 year old furry from North Yorkshire who likes video games, computers and old tech, nice to meet you all :3

in regards to my Amstrad stuff, i have a CPC 464, CTM 644 colour monitor, and 4 games: treasure island dizzy, kwik snax, fast food and Roland in the Caves. it isn’t much but it’s honest work.

i hope to have many good times on this forum and in the wonderful Amstrad CPC 464 community uwu

oh, and by the way, i’m more active on discord than the forums, just so you all know.

is this the right place to post this? i’m unsure where this goes, exactly…

I think as this forum is completely new, not all section are there yet, a “welcome” section or “who am i” is not there yet, so it is probably good.

Saying that, welcome to the community.

With your age in mind, may I ask why you got into Amstrad CPC? That is a little bit unusual. I like it, but still would never have expected that someone of your age would want to work with this ancient hardware.

What are you looking for in this machine and endeavor?

i dunno. i’ve always been big into a retro ever since i was a kid. i have way too many retro consoles and computers lol.

i’m mostly interested in games and also hardware expansions like the M4.

i’m well versed in these old computers and consoles, although i often just use them as games machines, even though i want to try and make my own stuff for these systems.

also thanks for the welcome, i appreciate it.

The CPC is absolutely fantastic to get started in understanding the inner workings of literally any computer and program for it.

Have fun, just enjoy the time you are living in, as we have so many great tools at hand nowadays that I would have dreamt of in 1987
