USB Keyboard On Amstrad CPC 6128 (and others)

Last year I managed to connect a standard USB keyboard to the internal of my CPC 6128. I describe it all on my blog:

Great project.

Hopefully one day it will become public.

By the way, I may use your shift key mapping logic inside my emulator

I’ve got a board that allows you to connect the CPC keyboard to a PC - looks mad at work!

Yes, it’s the other around, make the physical CPC keyboard appear as USB so that is works on modern computers. I’ve seen several such projects.

SagaDS, you’re right, I should have released the code, even if it’s not much.

I’ve added a paragraph at the end of the blog post, with a link to the code and a quick howto for compilation.

Nice project.

That’s nice, too.

Your board … ends up with a male USB-A plug, right?

Now take your external CPC keyboard with that board and USB-A connector and plug it to the USB input described in this post and you can use an external CPC keyboard on a CPC.

That’s basically what I’m doing - CPC keyboard ribbon goes into board, board has usb out to PC, PC recognises it as a standard HID. The copy key now does actual CTRL-C copying too.
