Hi,
finally some news on one of the most forward looked games
I cannot await to see it - or videos of it.
I’m eagerly waiting to see how this game will come out because they’ve said they’ll distribute the game on physical cartridge. If I understand correctly, the cartridge will have an AY chip for extra audio channel. Let’s see how they’ll handle the cartridge distribution. If you guys think you will be able to download and play the game on release day with just a .cdt file, that may not be true. I think you shouldn’t get your hopes up too much. ![]()
This must be the only game that ever needed three threads in succession ![]()
That post is so great it should end with “THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER”.
Hmm … I have not seen any - so that is why I have posted it… strange
No, there was an original one on the old forum that went on for so long that it crashed the forum when I tried to merge it with a second thread, so then we had a third to continue the discussion making this the fourth one, actually!
Ah I see, as the old one is read only and that was actully some updates after month of total silence .. I thought it might be worth talking about it.
Was not aware that we alread hit the bandwidth limit of the server ![]()
No you definitely did good to open one!
No, the game will be released on a cartridge, similar to the Alcon 2020 cartridge. Unless this information changes, Toto will be manufacturing the cartridge; it will not be released on CDT.
It’s not CPCwiki forum without an ongoing Vespertino thread.
But, but, but… won’t BG Games think of all the CPC464 owners who have purchased RAM expansions for their machine but don’t own a disc drive?!
Not sure I do understand.
That is why we have a cartrdige and it runs on 64KB memory configuration as it pretty much only uses the memory for certain screen stuff, but the code and all the “loadable” graphics are on the cartrdige?
That is what I understood from the discussion.
I assume it requires a physical computer - no emulator.
They claim they’ll put an additional sound chip in the cartridge.
You will be able to play on an Emulator as well.
How, if it’s got an extra chip?
For more music channels, but the game can run without those extra channels.
My joke was in response to XeNoMoRPH stating that “it will not be released on CDT”. Unfortunately I hadn’t worked out at the time how to quote the post I was replying to, which would have provided some context - but I’ve found which buttons I need to press now. ![]()
I hear you, quite a steep learning experience ![]()
Did I heard cartridge and 64Kb
? I hope the game will be full joypad control and work on GX4000 !!!
