I started this post to share some of the wild and sometimes baffling listings we come across for Amstrad computers, software, and accessories. The aim is to highlight what people are actually buying and selling—whether it’s surprisingly expensive, oddly described, or just plain confusing. Feel free to contribute… are these listings fair, nostalgic gold, or completely over the top?
Please note: this thread is not for promoting or selling your own items.
Been watching these two GX4000 Games, The Enforcer and Boxed Trojan Phazer with Sheet Shoot cart, i knew they would fetch good money but not this much.
That’s nuts! Would really like a Trojan Phazer for my 6128 Plus but I’m not paying that kind of money! If only I’d not been so short of cash back in the day…
I’m honestly considering getting one of the really cheap speccy ones and rewiring it for this sorta thing. I’d like to at some point try them, even if it’s not the original experience.
I wouldn’t pay that either but my intuition says the CPC hardware is starting to become rare so the prices in general will increase.
Until all the guys like us (that had one as a kid) die. Then no one will care and the prices will drop again.
Conclusion: the latest surviving CPC fan will be able to buy cheaply what descendants of other fans will offer for sale (most of it will be trashed) and the world will continue without us.
(Hoping no war, AI apocalypse or other catastrophe kills us all. )
If the decendents even see any value in it and not just throwing it away. I would assume that 90% of the existing install base will die with the owners.
Looks like a collector is disposing of their GX4000 original carts/boxes one by one on eBay atm if anyone has a gap in their collection. Watching it just to see how mad some of the bids get.
