There are some Plus demos that I can’t run because they need 128K.

I attempted the piggyback mod a while back without much luck - can’t trust what you get from those aliexpress ram listings!

Yes, there are CPC Plus games that require 128K as well

This is my CPC wheelie-cart, I aspire to a permanent desktop spot one day . 6128+, GX4000, CM14.

This is my setup, much of which I’ve had since 1990. This was the first computer I bought with my own money (paper round tips were good that year!) and an upgrade to the CPC464 we got for Christmas in 87/88. The Multiface II and HackIt don’t get much use these days as I have the M4 and memory expansion on the back. Things that didn’t exist or I just couldn’t have afforded back in the day! I feel incredibly lucky to have such a nice office space where this takes pride of place. Just wish I could find more time to use it! But at least I can glance at it and smile when working from home!!

Ok, this is my work station or I should say test station as most of my work is done in emulators.

CPC 6128 upgraded to 1024 Kb of RAM, internal 3"1/2 disc drive with AB switch, pause and side swap buttons, M4 board always connected and Megradrive pad. Other stuff eventually connected are Multiface Two, 3" external drive, LambdaSpeakFS, Gotek and Mouse (Imperium Solo).

Additional hard: SymbiFace Il, Dandanator, Ramcard (internal and external), RamRomBox…

And the second 6128 that was all pulled apart in the picture has been fixed and put back together again, so now I have a working 6128 with green screen as well. Maybe I can get a PicoCPC for that when it comes out because right now I have no way to actually load anything on it. I don’t have any physical disks!

CPC 6128 Unused…

Wow, pristine!

Oh man … this looks pristine. Has it been refurbished, or did you get it really NOS?

Neither, actually! I got it when I was a kid and never used it, so it’s been sitting in storage ever since.

That just raises further questions!

So you, like, literally never even turned it on, or you used it a bit but weren’t interested so your parents boxed it back up and stored it away?

Long story short, the computer was bought by my older brother. He passed away a few months after buying it, back in 1989.

I decided to keep it exactly as he left it. I’ve never really used it. I only power it on occasionally, usually once a year on the anniversary of his passing.

Sorry for the sad story behind it.

Don’t apologise, I think it’s really sweet you do that, and I’m sorry for your loss.

Please ignore the crime against nature on the screen (it’s a speccy emu on a pi outputting composite) but I realised my VIDI-CPC had a passthrough edge connector on it, so now my setup has been lightly updated.

I have several CPCs (sorry I know I am a bit of a hoarder) but the one I am most proud of is the SAKURA one I built myself. A replica 464 CPC that I soldered myself parired with a CPC keyboard from the amazing Bread80’s mechanical keyboard for CPC 464 ( CPC_Keyboards/Keyswitch_CPC464_SMT at main · Bread80/CPC_Keyboards · GitHub )

Oh damn, that’s sweet! I am guessing the keys are not custom made and that is the reason for the few gaps? I guess the easy fix would be to 3Dprint some type of ‘frame’ to place around the keys to cover those.

Is there anyone making models to 3dprint new CPC shells? :stuck_out_tongue:
